A Little History

In the early 1900s, Sunset Chevrolet had modest beginnings as a gas station, selling one or two Chevrolets a month. Sunset Chevrolet has always served the surrounding community and donates thousands of dollars a year to local causes and charities. For example: Sunset Chevrolet regularly donates cars and motors to the auto shop department at Sumner High School to further the education of those interested in becoming involved in the automotive industry. Sunset has provided vehicles for Sumner’s formal events. Sunset Chevrolet provided much needed revenue the Sumner’s Athletic department by purchasing the naming rights to Sumner Stadium, which is now referred to as "Sunset Stadium." A vehicle valued at up to $30,000 is donated annually to the school district to raffle off. Those proceeds go to school funding for activities for all students and a scholarship is given out annually for students interested in following the auto career path. Sunset’s involvement in the community is as timeless as the dealership itself.
