Engine (Power)
Three engines power the 2025 Tahoe. The standard 5.3-liter V-8 (355 horsepower, 383 pound-feet of torque) on the LS, LT, RST, Z71, and Premier trims balances power with everyday usability.
The 6.2-liter V-8 (420 horsepower, 460 pound-feet of torque) comes standard on the High Country and optional on the RST, Z71, and Premier trims. The improved 3.0-liter diesel inline-six now produces 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque and is available on all trims except the LS. All engines use a responsive 10-speed automatic transmission.

Performance
The Tahoe excels at towing for families with boats or campers. The 5.3-liter V-8 with rear-wheel drive pulls 8,400 pounds, the 6.2-liter V-8 manages 8,300 pounds, and the diesel handles 8,200 pounds with better fuel economy. New features on the Chevrolet Tahoe include a trailer tire monitoring system and boat-ramp assist technology that make launching watercraft easier.
