High Value engines:
There are engines available for those who are looking for fully capable, and affordable, options. The Custom Trail Boss, Custom, and Work Truck trim levels offer two different engine and transmission combinations. The first of these is the standard engine, which is a 4.3-liter V6, that comes with Active Fuel Management. This engine pumps out 285 horsepower and 305 pound-feet of torque. Another available engine is a 5.3-liter V8, which also features Active Fuel Management. This engine can create 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. Both engines come with a six-speed automatic transmission.
High Volume engines:
If you’re looking for engines that offer performance, efficiency, and technology, then high volume engines are most definitely up your alley. These engines come on the LT Trail Boss, RST, and LT trim levels. The first of these engines is new to the 2019 model year, and is a 2.7-liter Turbo that comes with stop/start technology and Active Fuel Management. This engine produces 310 horsepower and 348 pound-feet of torque. The next engine offered is the 5.3-liter V8 with both Dynamic Fuel Management and stop/start technology. This engine can create 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. The final available high volume engine is a Duramax 3.0-liter Turbo-Diesel with stop/start technology. The first two engines come with an 8-speed automatic transmission, while the diesel engine features a 10-speed automatic transmission.
High Feature engines:
Those looking for an engine that is in a premium truck will want a high feature engine. They are available with the High Country and LTZ trim levels. The first of these, which comes with stop/start technology and Dynamic Fuel Management, is the 5.3-liter V8 that creates 383 lb-ft of torque and 355 horsepower. This engine works with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Another engine, paired with the same features and a 10-speed automatic transmission, is a 6.2-liter V8. This engine can output 460 lb-ft of torque and 420 horsepower. Finally, the Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine is back with a ten-speed automatic transmission and stop/start technology.
